New book release: “Compass Guide: How to Write Scientific Journal Articles”

In September 2025, Dr Sandra Mandic published her fifth book: “Compass Guide: How to Write Scientific Journal Articles” – in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

In this book, Dr Mandic shares lessons learned from over 25 years of experience of writing and publishing academic research.

The book takes a reader on a journey through the article writing process: from preparation and planning through to writing, submission and publication phases. The book provides guidelines, tips, examples, checklists and over 40 infographics.

New award for Dr Sandra Mandic and Compass Guide Research Training

In May 2025, Dr Sandra Mandic received the New Zealand Academic Achievement in Project Management Award 2025 for her book “Compass Guide: How to Plan Your Research Project”.

This award from Project Management Institute of New Zealand recognises an individual or team that has advanced the concepts, knowledge, and/or practices of project-based management through research that significantly advances the profession or aspects thereof.

In 2024, Dr Sandra Mandic was the finalist for the same award for her book “Compass Guide for Research Project Management”.

Dr Mandic was honoured to be the winner of the Academic Achievement in Project Management Award 2025 by Project Management Institute of New Zealand for her book “Compass Guide: How to Plan Your Research Project”.

Dr Mandic participated in the International Society for Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity Conference 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand in June 2025.

Dr Mandic was one of the presenters at the Australasian Transport Research Forum 2025 and Transport Knowledge Conference 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand in November 2025.

Dr Mandic presented about “Using Project Management Knowledge, Processes and Tools to Boost Success of Research Initiatives” at the New Zealand Project Management Conference 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand in May 2025.
Dr Mandic delivered a workshop “Building Bridges across Sectors and Cultures and Harnessing the Power of Diversity” at the Auckland Branch of the Project Management Institute of New Zealand in June 2025.
Dr Mandic shared insights from the BEATS Research journey about secrets of successful cross-sector collaboration in a workshop for the Wellington Leadership Group organised by Cillín Hearns in Wellington, New Zealand in October 2025
As part of her role as the Co-Chair (Policy) for the New Zealand Chapter of the Transport and Health Science Group, Dr Mandic organised the Transport and Health Symposium 2025 in Auckland in June 2025.
Dr Mandic organised the Congestion Conversation Symposium in Wellington in August 2025 as part of the activities of the New Zealand Chapter of the Transport and Health Science Group.
During 2025, AGILE Research Ltd. published one new (fifth) Compass Guide book (Compass Guide: How to Write Scientific Journal Articles) and released four translated versions of Compass Guide books.
